Special Thanks

You can not be a successful captain without a good crew. One of the hardest parts about boating is sometimes finding someone to help you. When I purchased my Carver pictured above, these two guys came to my assistance. So, a special thanks goes to my neighbor Michael Taylor on the left (no relations) and my friend Craig Davis.

From Grand Haven, we traveled first down the Michigan shoreline about 10 miles out, then from New Buffalo we cut across the lake. We had southeast winds of 15 to m.p.h. that created 5 to 7 foot waves! I can say that we were all scared, but as the captain I had to show courage :-). On a crossing that should have taken 6 to 7 hours, took us 11 hours. Not to mention the additional cost in gas. My Carver came through without a scratch. However I did learn the hard way about securing things down before you travel. Again, many special thanks to my friends.

Thanks guys,

Michael Taylor
